On February 12th, Northern Ontario Hockey Association's Executive Director Jason Marchand wrote to confirm its support for Play On! Canada and its plans to hold an event annually again in Sudbury.
In this letter Marchand states that NOHA "are thrilled to learn that this non-profit organization is set to relaunch this year", as NOHA "know[s] the positive impact that can come from well-organized community street hockey events across the country."
NOHA also looks forward to the fact that "planned events will take place in one of the cities that falls under [NOHA's] umbrella [in] Sudbury, Ontario - and [NOHA] are excited to collaborate and support this event."
Finally, NOHA supports wholeheartedly the re-launch of Play On! Canada, in tandem with NOHA's "efforts to increase the connections within our communities through fun and safe physical activity playing the best game in the world, hockey."
The City of Sudbury has made a significant funding contribution towards the project that is conditional on Federal funding also being awarded.
